London and Paris

Hello and back to blogging after a break.  I have a number of projects to show you and today I am starting with these makes featuring London and Paris skylines and which, if I am honest, I really am not to sure about.  I say not sure, I mean I am not sure if they look good and I am not sure if I like them.  It just shows that sometimes us crafters really have days when we don’t know if our work is any good.

Both designs use dies by Joanna Sheen, and backgrounds and cut outs  made using Distress Oxides. All my lettering is from the Leonie Pujol Typography set.

Below is my take on London.  I have used three distress oxides on the top (Faded Jeans, Antique Linen, Black Soot) and three on the bottom (Pickled Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet). On another sheet of paper I used  Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and cut out three sets of the die. I am not sure if you can see but I have decoupaged the skyline and tried to show the different colour.  There wasn’t much else I felt I could do with this design so I cut out the words from scraps of paper which had been left over from Distress Oxide experiments.

Paris I have used the same technique for the background using Broken China, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans for the top and Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover for the bottom.  For the cut out I have used Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide.  This time I cut out three images but decided to use two only and again made the writing using offcuts of papers  I had experimented on.

Some people may like these designs whilst I am indifferent but I would love to hear your comments on them if you have time.

Take care and I look forward to your next visit.
