Something a little bit different from me today as I am sharing a knitted Halloween project. This pattern caught my eye in an email from Deramores and is a pattern by Amanda Berry. I’ve never knitted toys before but I loved the look on this project. I’ve knitted since I was very small and it’s quite amazing to think that this is my first set of toys, I am, what some would probably consider an experienced knitter. I knew I could knit this project quickly and with no mistakes. I bought everything direct from Deramores and started the knitting as soon as it arrived.
It’s a very easy piece to knit and put together but I am a little disappointed that I didn’t quite get the cat right this time, that is entirely down to my nose stitching and not my knitting. I hope I can rectify this in the future as I have been asked if I could make another cat. The pumpkin is lovely but I’ve just realised that I have the pumpkin around the wrong way and you cannot see the wicked design on its face. The pumpkin could be repeated numerous times to make a hanging display or just pile them up in a corner near Halloween. Even though these are knitted toys I would be hard pressed to give them as toy gifts, I think these are more your decorative toys and a certainly not suitable for small children.
So I hope that you like this different post from me today. More Halloween posts to come and also some Christmas ones too (us card makers need to think ahead!)
Much love as always
