Heartfelt Hedgehogs

Hello and welcome back after a mini break due to me not having anything to share, that is because I have a few projects on the go and none of which are finished.  However I discovered this image today that I had forgotten to share so I thought I would share this with you today.

This image is made up of elements from the lovely Dreamees CD Heartfelt Hedgehogs which I have been playing with.  I loved the image of this hedgehog and for once decided to go with the already coloured image for this card. You cannot see it clearly here but I had two images and decoupaged the second image to make the card stand out a bit.  I used papers from the CD and found coordinating yardstick from my Hunkydory Adorable Scoreable collection.  I also used a Sue Wilson Die from the Italian collection just to make more of a feature of the hedgehog. For once I also printed out the images of the flowers and was cutting them out whilst waiting for something else to dry.  The flower centres are made up from charity shop strung jewellery, you know the faux pearls you can buy.  I found that buying these and removing them from their string can provide loads of beautiful pearl embellishments for flowers and it saves me buying embellishments.  The only bit of stamping done on the image is that of Hello Friend which is found in the accompanying stamp collection.

I really like this card and hope I can send it to someone very soon.

Thank you for popping by and I look forward to welcoming you back in a few days when I will hopefully have some more makes to share with you.

Pink and yellow themed cards

Today I am sharing 3 cards with you which I’ve used a palette of pink and yellow and printed papers from the Dreamees Sensational Flowers CD and used some of the Dreamees flower stamps.

This first card I really like as it’s in your face which is nothing like me at all.  The base card is 6×6 and I’ve covered it with a piece of bright yellow adorable scoreable. Then I have layered a piece of paper at an angle and then another piece of bright pink adorable scoreable.  The final layer is another piece of printed paper.

Onto this paper I stamped the bottom layer of a flower all over the base, and also the sentiment, the corner and the butterflies before making my flowers. On separate watercolour paper I stamped the rest of the flowers and coloured them with dinky inkies and allowing them to dry before cutting them out.  I then made up the flowers and stuck them to the stamped base on the card.  The finishing touch was a drop of Tonic Nuvo Crystal drops.

This next card uses the same paper as above and the same yellow card stock but this time I have kept it simple. The flowers were stamped onto the offcuts of the paper and then cut up and made up.  The yellow card I embossed with a folder from Crafters Companion and which lent itself nicely to them.  I arranged the flowers around the sentiment and added the flowers centres as before.

My final card uses the pink theme and also some black. I have stamped and embossed some flowers with embossing powder and the rest onto the striped paper.  Combined with the black card I have embossed the sentiment this time and built up my design from there. I like the card but I’m not really sure if its right though.  Still you cannot go wrong with pink and black and you have to try these things don’t you.

Thank you once again for stopping by and I look forward to your next visit.

Take care

Fun with Mermaids

Today I am sharing some photos of some of my Mermaid theme makes all combining Dreamees products and MDF.  I throughly enjoyed making these as I love working with MDF and quality products.  All papers used here have been printed from the Magical Mermaids CD, again by Dreamees.

Here I’ve stuck my paper to the MDF and once it was dry, I used dinky inkies to add some colour.

I had chosen my MDF to adorn this piece so I decided on my embossing colours.  For the seahorse I used Peace, the Mermaid I used Rose Gold and the anchor I used Midnight. I placed these on the MDF but the design looked bare so I decided to use my Magical Mermaid stamps and some Spectrum Noir markers to stamp some starfish, fish and swirls.  This looked much better especially when I fixed the MDF to the base piece.

This next piece is very simple.  This is a topper which was printed out and coloured with the dinky inkies and then stuck to the MDF.  The stars are embossed with Boogie and stuck on.  I’ve coloured the mermaid with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

This next piece again uses a piece of paper printed from the Magical Mermaids CD.  The mermaid is embossed with Dazzle and the starfish with Platinum.  I’ve inked the edges of the MDF with Dinky Inkies.

Finally the last piece of MDF.  This time I chose to use a backing paper and stamp onto it.  The mermaid was stamped onto some paper before being coloured in and stuck on.  The shells were stamped onto the MDF directly but I then stamped some more and decoupaged them onto the bases.  Again I coloured these with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I then stamped the sentiment straight onto the MDF

All the final images have been sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine

I hope that you like what I have shared with you today and I look forward to your next visit.

Cherry Blossom

I’m sharing another one of my MDF plaques but this time with a Japanese theme.  I decided to create something after ordering the Tattered Lace Japanese collection and the lovely papers included needed something to show them off.  I had this design in mind and had cut out the figure of Mai and coloured it in.  Then as luck would have it the latest Tattered Lace magazine popped through my door with a very apt Cherry Blossom Charisma die and some free papers for it.  It matched my design perfectly so I used the papers and made the cherry blossom to go at the top of my design.  Again once dry I sealed the design with Spray and Shine.

Thank you for stopping by again and I look forward to your next visit.

Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate

So today I’m sharing this fun plaque I made with some Tattered Lace dies I needed to have in my collection.  Most ladies I know cannot resist their chocolate so I thought this plaque would be fun. I firstly covered the plaque in some paper which I found in my stash, and used Modge Podge to secure it to the MDF.  Whilst that was drying I cut out the letters in a lilac and black colour scheme.  I separated the letters in the die so that I could just lay them to fit.

The chocolate bar I cut out multiple times.  You cannot see but I wanted a layered effect so that it looks like the wrapping is larger than the bar of chocolate.  Its given a nice dimension to the plaque. It was looking bare is I decided to add one of my already made Dreamees flowers and just the one worked. Once the plaque was fully dry I sprayed with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine with the fine glitter in it just to seal and give it an added sheen.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog and I look forward to your next visit.

Side stepper card

Today I’m sharing this card which I made recently, using a base card by Hunkydory and the rest being Dreamees products.

Firstly I took a sheet of vellum and inked it all over with various sized flowers which I would then cut out and make into blooms.  Once I had stamped the flowers on I coloured them very gently with one of my dinky inkies and I set these aside to dry before cutting them all out and gluing them with my hot glue gun.  I set them all to one side, added an acrylic crystal centre and started on the card.

I covered the card with Dreamees papers and then using a Spellbinders flower frame die cut out a frame using some card and covered this with paper. I then cut a section of Hunkydory InkMe card and inked it with Dinky Inkies and then Stamped onto this design .  Once this had dried I arranged the flowers on the card, and secured them with the hot glue gun.  The photo is not doing it justice unfortunately but it is an effective look.

Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to your next visit.

Playing with some MDF

I have had a little blogging break recently but I’m back again and ready to show you some more of what I have been up to, starting with these three MDF “palette” designs.

These designs are all made up from a selection of MDF by Dreamees, and I enjoyed making all these up.  I chose all the papers first and layered the MDF and glued them all together using Modge Podge glue.  Once everything was dry I inked around the edges using my Dinky Inkies.  On the various palettes I’ve used a selection from the Dreamees dies range in order to compliment the sayings from the Altenew “Thoughts and Reminders” set.  I have added acrylic crystals where appropriate and then sealed the design with Stick and Spray by Crafters Companion.

I hope that you like what I have shared this time and I look forward to your next visit.
