Artisan style house

So a few posts ago you will have seen the Grandfather Clock that I made using the Artisan Style papers from Graphic 45. As you can imagine I had bits and pieces left over  and I decided to make some cards with them.  This card is very simply done. I used some black card for my base and then matted it with some lovely orange toned paper which just fitted. I then placed the postcard shaped image onto some more black card and decoupaged the flower elements on the left hand side of the card. I finished the card with some card Candi. It’s a lovely card and will come in handy for an emergency or just to send as a cheer up for someone.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

This morning I have had to make a very quick and stylish anniversary card.  I had no idea they were celebrating this landmark and I knew I had to make something quick and clean.  I decided to use the Forever Friends collection from Docrafts as I had already made the decoupage and there was a lot of gold.

I cut a piece of black card and mounted that on my base card.  Then I cut the lovely striped gold paper and mounted it and added the decoupage and the sentiment. I added gold Candi for quickness and it sets it off. I think it looks lovely, do you?

See you all soon

Grandfather time

Hello! Today I am showing off the rather fantastic grandfather clock that I have put together myself and decorated with a little help from stunning papers. The clock is intended as a gift for my Mum’s birthday which isn’t until August but I started it thinking I’d have a handful on my plate and wouldn’t have much time to decorate. WRONG! It’s all taken much less time than I’d allowed and it’s finished.

I’ve only taken a photo of the front but it’s decorated all over using the Graphic 45 “Artisan Style” paper pad. I’ve a lot of these papers left so I’ve made a few cards which you’ll get to see over the next few days.

The kit is by Stamps away and I knew the kit would be really easy as I’ve made their things before. Each section was made separately and then put together – I decorated the clock after it was made.  It was a difficult decision as to what papers to use but I saw the “door” on this particular set and knew it would fit the door of the clock. I stencilled the clock face on some paper, that was my sticking point as I was dithering whether to stencil on the bare MDF or onto paper and I chose paper so if I made a mistake I could rip it up and start over again until it was right. There are doors at the back so you can easily change the battery in the mechanism. I made my own sealant using modge podge and water and its applied very well.

Thrilled with how this has turned out and I hope my Mum likes it.

Thanks for popping by today and please stop by again soon.

So here is another offering from the Docrafts Forever Friends craft pack and much simpler than yesterday, but rather effective. The only part  of this card which wasn’t in the kit is the silver card I used to matt the smaller star paper. It’s made a change from more complex cards but I think these are really effective and pretty. I hope you like this post and visit again soon

After a slight break….

My sincere apologies for not having blogged sooner but sometimes everyday life has the ability to get in the way. I’ve not made many cards since my last post.  What I did make was something for a design team entry and I failed to get in and I was disappointed with that, still it’s onwards and upwards and let’s see how we go.

My first post back is one of the cards I have made recently. This is for my friend’s birthday which was last week.  It’s simpler than my usual cards as its decoupage from a Docrafts kit but I LOVED it.  I loved creating this. I used one of my Tonic dies to mount the image and I used some Craftwork Cards Candi to add a little decoration.  I wanted it simple and classy.  I used silver and black card stock to mount my design. It was so simple to do but the effect looked stunning and I was so pleased.

Well I’m about to think about more blog posts so keep tuned and I hope you will pop by soon and have a look.
