One sherry too many

image

I wanted to share a fun canvas I made for my best friend. I’ve had the Joanna Sheen CD Rom Viva La Divas here for ages but I’ve not really played with it.  I decided to play and see if I could make a print of one of the images especially as I discovered that the images could be personalised.

I painted the canvas using Paper Artsy Fresco Finish in London Bus, a lovely vivid red which doesn’t really show on the computer screen. The image from the CD Rom I have mounted onto two pieces of card before mounting onto the canvas.  The canvas looked rather bare so I decided to accent it with some red card candi by Craftwork cards and it set the design off perfectly.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll visit again soon

This is the second canvas that is making its way over to Australia at the moment.  This one is very different from the last but I have used the same collection – Scruffy Little Kitten.

I used another piece of paper from Craftwork Cards to base my picture on, but this time I used a sheet from the Time for Tea collection. I didn’t need to do much to this design so I  accented it with more Crystal Drops from Tonic Nuvo ( Raspberry Pink, Carnation Pink, Sweet Lilac and Bubblegum Blush).  I highlighted some of the design using the crystal clear from the Spectrum Noir Sparkles.  I also used some of some of the colours to shade the white flower pieces I had in my stash (I believe these could be Craftwork Cards ).  For the flowers I used Rose Quartz, Moonstone and Moonlight and once dry I fixed one of my Acrylic Diamonds as a centre for my flower, and fixed to the design.

Again I am really pleased with the way in which this design has turned out and I hope that you like what I have made.

See you again soon

Purple prettiness

This design is on its way to Australia as I type this.  It should have been sent before Christmas but I started this and some others and put them to one side and simply forgot about them until I went where they were stored.  So I finished them and off they have gone to their new home in Australia.

These designs are actually on artists canvas.  They are 20×20 in size so small but you would be surprised what you can fit on that size.

My base canvas is covered with a piece of paper which is cut to fit the design and glued on with, in this instance photo glue as I needed to move it about a little.  The paper is from the Craftwork cards Velvet Plum pad.  Whilst this was drying I cut out the design I had printed from the taster CD.  I mounted this on a piece of black card and then glued to the centre of the decorated canvas.

The design at this time was looking very plain so I decided to decorate the design with some Crystal Drops from Tonic Nuvo.  I used two colours – Wisteria Purple and Crushed Grape.  These needed to dry overnight. Once they were dry I thought I’d add two butterflies.  I had just received my Spectrum Noir Sparkles so I thought I’d play with them.  I mixed them up a little and messed around with water and put them on the butterflies.  I used cosmos, amethyst, inspired violet and pink garnet on the butterflies and crystal clear to highlight the butterflies on the main design (you can’t see that on the photo). I added some of my clear acrylic crystals to finish off the butterflies when everything was dry and stuck them to the design with my glue gun.

I am really pleased with this design as I don’t normally use crafting CDs and had bought the package for the Sheena stamps.  I must say that I have since printed some of the designs off to use and you may see some of the designs in the future.  The strange this is I have a Joanna Sheen CD rom here that I have barely used (except for a design you’ll see this week) and I think I will be giving that a go very soon.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and come back again soon

Who said a poppy needed to be red???

image imageI am sure its possible to have poppies in shades of purple, well at least you can in the crafting world.  I enjoyed making this gatefold  card even though for me it was very time consuming.  I have lost the written details of how I made this but I know what products I used and these will be detailed in the tags. However the poppy stamp is by Sheena Douglass which was free with a Crafters Companion magazine a few months ago and which I don’t have to hand right now.  The papers and sentiments are by Craftwork cards and I’ve also used some Cosmic Shimmer Sparkles by Phill Martin.

Pretty Tatty Twinkles

imageWell I did promise you that I would give you a blog post but unfortunately I cannot find what I had written about this card, so hang in there with me and I’ll see what I can recall.

I used a combination of Promarkers and Distress Inks to colour in this pretty image from  Tatty Twinkles (and the name of the stamp escapes me so I apologise).  I wasn’t sure how to mount it on this card from my stash (which I know is Hunkydory card I purchased from Create and Craft).  The paper and sentiments are by Craftwork Cards Fab Fabrics and I chose this not to distract from the image. I think its worked out very well indeed.  I hope you like it.

The best laid plans

I had fully intended to post much much sooner than now but unfortunately a month ago I had an argument with a pavement and the pavement won.  I hurt my hand and spent one week in a splint before they decided to stick it in a plaster for a week.  Thankfully it wasn’t broken but the soft tissue damage has been problematic and I’ve really been on a downer and my mojo has been suffering.  Hopefully I am getting it back now.

Take care and I will see you all very soon
