I am so lucky that I have made some friends who are far removed from my crafting life and we have bonded over a love of a particular band.  I wanted to send some of my handmade cards to some of the ladies because as glorious as the internet is, it lacks something personal and this is personal from me.  I haven’t been able to make anymore than this at the moment (I shall be sorting this out soon) but for the lady I made this for, I thought this was an apt image.

I stamped the image and coloured it in using a wide variety of promarkers and flexmarkers.  The image lent itself very well to lots of lovely colours and to compliment this I decided to use papers from the Craftwork Cards Country Charm paper pad, with its patchwork effects and lovely colours. I used this paper to make some roses using my sizzix big shot as I love adding flowers. I then found some ribbon from stash to finish the card off.  So pretty and I think this is a design I shall return to time and time again.

February Birthday Card

Oops its been a little while since my last blog post, too many reasons to list but now I am back in the flow of things I have so many things to share with you all over the coming weeks.

I am starting with a birthday card made for a very good friend back last month.  You should know by now that I use mainly Craftwork Cards products, and this card is no exception.

I used the “A Year In Flowers” cardmaking pad and made up the flowers, using an acrylic diamond for the centres of the flowers. The stems coming from the flowers are made from bamboo skewers, and fixed with silicone glue for strength. I used some pretty pastel cardstock from my stash to give the card a little colour and used this to mount the February banner which is covering the ends of the sticks.  There are some acrylic diamonds that have been added to the card just for some added bling.
