Golden Wedding Card

I am sharing yet another make which a friend asked me for.  Again Golden Wedding Anniversaries are milestones to be celebrated and I wanted a simple but elegant card to reflect the occasion.

Finding gold tones can be very difficult especially if you want a specific colour and I knew what colour I wanted so I took the decision to cut out everything in white and colour it in using promarkers. I admit that I really am pleased with the effect I have achieved as I only used three promarkers – Holly for the leaves and gold and sunflower for the rose.  As the rose is cut out using a spellbinder create a flower die the petals can be individually coloured in and if you make a mistake then you just cut another.  It is a time consuming way to make a rose but the effect is stunning and I think the photo does not do it justice.

I also coloured the corner accents in gold, accented the frames with gold and coloured in the wording and number in the same colour. I just added some rhinestones for the dots on the “i” and in the corners and I added gold promarker to that just to give it that gold tint.

I am so pleased with this and in future I may colour in my roses using promarkers as I really loved the effect I achieved.

Happy Birthday little sister

Today its my little sister’s birthday and this is the card that I made for her.

This tag card is a first for me and I think its worked out well even though I am still terrified that it will fall apart.  Of course I used my go to Craftwork Cards kit and again chose Velvet Plum but I also chose to use the lovely Scrumptious clear stamp sets to add a little design of my own on the card as I was using both sides and I’d never done anything like this before.  I also used my SISTER stamp from the lovely range of stamps from Phill Martin (Elegant Family Collection) and it has all worked out nicely.

Another first for me…masking, I was very nervous masking my stamps but look it has worked and I will use the method again now that I have made a success of it.  I needed to break up the wonderful colours of the Velvet Plum without leaving something stark white or using more papers.  For me it has to be different and I think I have achieved thisSAM_2604SAM_2605Products used for this card

90th birthday card

Today I am sharing the 90th birthday card which I was asked to make recently. I wanted something fresh and cheerful whilst also celebrating an amazing milestone birthday.  Again I turned to my tried and trusted Craftwork Cards and their new collection Velvet Plum.

I used a frame from the Craftwork Cards Essentials pack and I placed a selection of the flowers that were with the collection and some which I die cut using Sizzix dies in my Big Shot.  The combination of pre cut and  making my own flowers worked very well on the larger of the frames and I placed a coordinating piece of Velvet Plum underneath to compliment the design. I used another piece of the paper to cut out the number 90 using my Cricut Mini.  I placed some acrylic diamonds in various flowers and around the frame and some smaller crystals on the special wishes sentiment.  I looked at the card again and felt that it needed something else so I decided to make 2 bows using my bow maker and placed them top and bottom of the card and I felt it was complete then.

I think this has made a very pretty and effective card design.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog and I hope you will stop by again soon
